One winter centuries ago
Long after the creation of the Nine Worlds
A ship carrying Norsemen who were bound to Færeyjar
Drifts west in the northern sea
They spot a land in the distance
And together all explore its smoky coast
and discover its many great wonders
The unseen elves watch in awe
At the curious foreigners
Who decided to settle in the new land
In the cliffs, puffins build their nests
While the norðurljósin dance above in the sky
Geysers spout streams of water
Waterfalls pour into the steaming lagoons
As the towering dormant volcanoes are seen in the horizon
Miles of barren land stretch out to the ashen shores
In the place the Norsemen once called the land of fire, rock….and ice
